Rucking is the foundation of Special Forces training and the Star Course is the culminating exercise. Your rucksack is on your back, you're given your waypoints, and you have to meet the time standard if you want to pass. Go! says the Cadre — you plan your route and then you're off.

Rucking Movements Meets Sandbag & Rucksack Training
You choose how much challenge you want to take on. Grab a ruck and a sandbag - you choose the weight. Bring some friends or make some when you get there. Start outside, stay outside, spread out, turn the music up, do some ruck PT, ruck some miles, then drink some beer when you’re done.
GORUCK Selection
The World’s Toughest Endurance Event
Selection is a 48+hour individual event and dubbed the toughest endurance event in the world. Our Cadre will enforce a standard adopted from our roots in Special Forces Assessment and Selection. Those participants who do not meet the standard at any point will be performance dropped at our discretion. Details are not forthcoming.
Team Assessment
Like Selection, but in Teams of Two
Team Assessment is a 48+ Hour endurance event where you and your teammate will compete against other teams of two in a series of challenges outlined by the Cadre. One team will have the opportunity to win, if any still remain, and all teams that meet the standard will become official finishers. Physical demands will mimic those found in Special Forces Assessment and Selection.
“I was introduced to GORUCK in one of the lowest times in my life. Through GORUCK I have met all kinds of great friends. Friends that help keep me motivated, friends that remind me what it really means to overcome adversity and persevere through it all, pushing me to pick myself up from my lows and continue to strive to be the best person and American I can be.”
